Trouble code: Standby LED blinks 9 times

I have a sony wide screen projection tv model # KP51WS520. After recently rearranging our living room; we moved the tv to the oppisite side of the room, the tv doeen't come on. Instead the standby LED just continueously blinks 9 times then pauses for about 3 seconds and then another 9 blinks. If you continue to try to get it to come on it eventually will turn on and everything works just fine. Somtimes it takes 5or more minutes of pressing the remote to get it to come on. My tv, which is the same model & also about 3 years old, is doing the same thing. The stand by light blinks 9 times. I punched in the code to get the tv in diagnostic mode and it came on and showed all zeros except #9 and it showed #104. If you could give me any help I would greatly appreciate it.

Is this g board a unplug and plug item that I might be able to replace or would I have to take it to a shop for repairs?

If I may add to Bestdarngood post that the 9 blinks means:
+/- 19V line is shorted
IC708 could be defective
PS701 or PS702 is opened.

To do this repair you will need to have basic electronics knowledge that includes hand soldering, use of a DVM and be very careful when working around high voltages.

Let me know if you require further assistance.

You will need basic knowledge of electronics as Jaime says from soldering to the use of a DVM. If you rate my solution as Thanks for Trying, you will see the exact parts that may be causing the problem posted by Jaime and he will be able to provide any further info into this as he is one of the best TV techs here.

SOURCE: Trouble code: Standby LED blinks 9 times

Try pushing the buttons on the remote and let me know what comes up on the screen if anything.
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink
codes.

I have a SONY KP55WS500 projection tv which has been a great TV. Unfortunately we were rearranging the living room and a bookshelf fell and broke the front screen. I cant find the part because of the age...

No,not repairable, because the front screen panel are 90% of the tv,sorry ur tv now,it only can be salvage for electronic boards for parts, that it.The tv screen panels are only can be purcharse from the tvs corporation themselves. They'll charge u the screen panel the same priced as new tv.Because the tv screen panels are in limited production and 90% improtant to the tv,that why.

Ps3 screen margins too wide for tv display

Try holding your power button on your ps3 down till it blinks.(not your main power switch on back of console) I do believe if correct, this should reset your ps3 resolution to an auto set for best display on your tv. It may pop up with a message on resolution, but that should work. I had similar problems and that worked for me.

You would have to completely take the Mirror out or Mylar backing and being careful not to damage anything, trying to move and reassemble when you get at the new location.
