I have had this web cam for over a year and it has worked well but lately it will just stop working and when I try to use it it will say "No supported camera detected. Please plug in to contine..." I never unplugged it

Try doing a system restore to an earlier time under Programs accessories system tools --->?System Restore direct to another date before problem occur that might fix your problem if not try reinstaling web cam from acer web site

The instructions made my web cam work again!

Do a system recovery to an earlier date when the web cam worked.

1st You download Webcam Driver.
I have recently re-installed my Life Cam VX-3000
After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

if u install Vista/ Win7 you must istall their software dell also provide you..

if u use xp then 1st u uninstall their driver then try it... and also check ur cam cable may be its not work properly.....

Hi mgcook86! I will be glad to assist you in this issue. There are resons why the web cam stops working. here are the posibility:
1. The device is total broken. check the physical device if there is a presence of broken or damage cable or something else.
2. The driver for the web cam is corrupted or deleted from the device manager. If this is the case, check on the device manager if the web cam driver is installed, If the driver is installed, uninstall it and re install the driver and that will fix the issue.
3. If your web cam is a built in with the laptop, check the bios settings of the laptop, possibly the device is turn off from the bios.
4. It could be a virus issue, if the device is working for the last few days and just stop working, try to restore the operating system earlier than the time that it stop working, it could be a virus issue that corrupt the registry of your O.S.

reinstall the drivers that came with the cam, if the problem still exists check your msn and windows live settings, this should fix the problem

If the Web cam was Generic, or even Brand name, and it came with a Drivers disc (this would mean that it is not plug and play), try completely uninstalling the Driver software for the web cam. After the uninstall has finished, reinstall the drivers, taking extra care to follow ALL on screen instructions to the T. If at some point there were other web cams, and the drivers that belonged to those cams installed on the computer, be sure to fully uninstall all of them. Only use the cam and the drivers that you are attempting to install. After all of that, the cam should work just fine.

If for some reason the cam does not work after reinstalling the drivers, try a different brand of web cam. The computer that the drivers are attempting to operate on may not be adequate to support those drivers. If that's the case, try a generic, cheaper web cam as I said.

Also: While powering up the cam, don't run anything unnecessary.

I have installed software, web Cam works fine.
Down loaded SKYPE ,but when speaking with another person ,I could see them and hear them OK, but they were unable to see me although sound communication was fine. Is this a web cam setting problem or Skype problem.
