"Cartridge error...Remove and re-insert cartridge on right"
I have done this repeatedly.I have cleaned the cartridge. Still no printing.
Any ideas? Thanks.rt
I have also the same problem with printing. Mine prints after a two minutes wait however two are okay and then the third line is nearly wiped out e.i
sentence cut in half and not everything is printed. the fourth and fifth are okay and the sixth is again onclear and cut in half horizontally.
Sometimes it happens every other sentence
Any solutions please? I have cleaned , aligned, have uninstalled the 5600 program and again installed. results are the same. I had to take the right cartridge out and in 3 times (now okay) but the problem persists

problem with any one of your cartrides. open the carridge door and renove color cartridge and close it.if it says insert left cartridge then it could be the problem with color cartrige.or the same error come then put the color cartridge and remove the block cartrige.if display says insert right cartridge then it could br the problem with black cartridge.try clesn the cartridge contacts & ink nozzles and put it back (use a soft cloth to clean the cotact)
Sometimes HP printers are finicky about cartridge installs. Take a damp paper towel, and clean the contact strip on the back side of your cartridge, then dry it off. Gently clean the contacts in the printer cartridge stall, with an old toothbrush....Gently!
Repeat till you get the cartridge to get recognized!
Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
this should work for all 5500 hp printers
i hope this helps you out

Replacing the print cartridges
Turn on the HP Officejet, and lift open the print-carriage access door.
The print carriage will move into the access area.
Figure 1: Opening the print-carriage access door
After the carriage stops moving, push down on the top of the print cartridge to release it, and then pull it toward you out of the slot.
Figure 2: Removing the print cartridgeNOTE:
It is normal to see ink buildup in the print cartridge slots.
Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging and gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles. Install the cartridge immediately upon removing the tape to prevent ink from drying in the nozzles.
Figure 3: Removing the plastic tape
Push the new print cartridge into the appropriate slot at a slight angle, until it clicks into place.
Do not attempt to push the cartridge straight into the slot. It must slide in at a slight angle.
Figure 4: Inserting the print cartridge
Close the print-carriage access door.
Aligning the print cartridges
The HP Officejet will prompt you to align the print cartridges every time you install a new print cartridge to assure high-quality output.
When the message displays, press OK .
The HP Officejet will print an alignment page.
Place the alignment page face down on the left front corner of the glass with the top of the page facing the left side.
Press OK .
The HP Officejet will align the print cartridges and display Alignment Complete .
