You might need to wait for the battery to die, which could take a while. I also found out there's a reset button on the Zen. There should be a little hole under the on switch, and you need a pin or paperclip or something to press it. After you do, the screen should turn black. Then you can turn it on, and it will be unfrozen. This has worked for me numorous times.

When i shut down the com. my zen wont start up anymore

When you let the battery totally run down on these, it has to sit and charge, looking quite dead, for a little while before it has enough of a charge to boot-up again.

My zen is stuck on docked mode

I had the same problem. Have you tried a soft reset - paper clip into small hole on the side with the on/off slider. Hols it in for about 5 seconds.

I KNOW I can charge my MP3 player and listen to it at the same time, but I don't know how.

Disabled it under device manager! So that it still draws power from the USB port without attempting to pair with the computer.

Please Help !

If your Zen V wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Docked prooblem

Plug it in and start charging it. Once it has a decent charge if you ever have that problem again... (see below)

Using the instructions below try Reset, first, if that doesn't fix it try the Cleanup method, if that doesn't work... (if you have a backup of all your music on your computer), try the format option

This is from Creative's website:
Zen V Plus and Zen V
  1. Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

Zen V

You might have pulled it out when it was transferring information. You probably need to upgrade its firmware. Go to Creative's website and check.
