You have a power supply problem, if the cord is detachable from the player make sure it is snug tight, next pull the cover off and follow the cord to the power supply board to see if the fuse is blown, the other thing I come across is a bad capacitor near power transistor but this will require some technical know how. One final thought, check your unit on another wall receptacle.
The power board inside the DVD is burned/ damaged.You need to take it to the service center to replace the power unit.
If you know what to do, you can open the DVD case, then replace the power board.To locate it, simply follow the power cord, power cord attached to the power board. Replace with same type of boards.
You did not state the model number. Kind of hard to find the correct adapter without that knowledge. Also which cord do you need, the power cord for the car, or the wall in your house.
