Canon MP640 All-In-One InkJet Printer Logo
Posted on May 12, 2011

Canon MP640 has 6C10 error, I have used the service mode and restore button x4 to reset absorber counter, but this stops the error until you go to print - then the next document returns the same 6C10 error again. Any Ideas.

SOURCE: Canon PIXMA MP140 Service error 5100

ok... you have to reset the printer --

How to reset the Canon MP150 after a refill (Step 10 concerns refill; instructions below the steps):
Method1 (Safe Factory Method):
1) Disconnect the printer’s power outlet
2) Press and hold the power button while connecting the power outlet back.
3) While still holding down the power button, press the reset button twice.(red circle with a triangle)
4) Release the power button
The printer takes about 10 seconds to show the number 0.
5) Press + to change the value from 0 to 1.
6) When this value is 1, press colour button; this will light up two leds.
One is for plain paper and the other for photo paper. At this point is feed the printer with paper.
7) Press the power button twice and the printer will print a some stuff (if it doesn't print by itself, then press the "color" button once and the test sheet will print). Don’t worry much about the printed material. I got some stripped lines and some numbers. I believe that my colour cartridge is clogged which is why I got the green strips.
When you print this sheet the value in the display returns to zero.
8 ) Open the printer cover cover (not the scanner cover) and remove the cartridges. With the printer still open, disconnect the power outlet.
9) Close the lid and turn on the printer.
10) Refill cartridges and place them back in their nice little abode in the printer.

Hpoe this helps

6. From the Counter Value(%) pull-down menu, select the value (in 10% increments) which is the closest to the actual counter value confirmed before replacement of the logic board, and click SET.

My canon pixma mp130 is coming up the waste ink absorber is almost full , how do i fix this , can i do it myself?

Two possibilities of solving this by yourself.

First solution: Clean the absorber pads
Look inside the printer, while the ink cartridge seated on the right side of the printer, under the ink cartridge is two absorber pads. Open the cartridge cover, to position the cartridge carrier in the middle. Leaving the right portion open and expose the absorber pads. Lift it up using a tweezer. Now clean this pads on a running water. And when its clean return it back to its place. Close the cover.

Second solution: Reset the Printer after cleaning the absorber pads.
These are the steps to reset your printer and clear all the errors including ink absorber full.
1. Turn on the printer
2. Press the MENU key
3.
Press SCAN button
4.
Press the COPY button
5. Press the SCAN button then wait until it enters the service mode.
6.
Select NVRAM ACCESS further OK
7.
Select SET ABS-M LEVEL and set value equal to zero
8.
Select SET ABS-R LEVEL (if any) and is set to zero.
9.
Turn off the printer
Do this as many times until it fully reset the printer

Please give this solution a 4 thumbs up to help me improve my ratings.
Thank you for using Fixya.
