Restart the computer and as it is restarting Press F11 and follow the on screen instructions. If this does not work then one, change is necessary which is, as the computer is restarting ,Press F11 and CTRL together and follow the on screen instructions. Some times the key combination is different so try F10 if the above does not work. good luck

Turn the computer on, after you see the "Dell" logo, press and hold Ctrl then press F11, then release them both at the same time. If that dosen't work after the dell logo contunilusly press Ctrl and F11 repeatly at the same time and the dell recovery partition wizard should show up. Source(s): Dell service Repair Expert

SOURCE: how do i restore my dell latitude d410 laptop if i

That is difficult if it is asking for that. Normally you can start the laptop and right after you see the Dell splash screen press the F11. That should bring up the restore menu by passing any security you have setup. From there you can select to restore the computer to factory settings. If you have the restore DVD's then you can put the first one in the DVD drive and boot the computer and it should start from the DVD instead of the hard drive. Now, these will all work if you haven't setup security in BIOS requiring an Admin password. If you setup the BIOS passwords then you are going to have to try and reset the BIOS. Not impossible but a little harder. Remove the power cord, remove the battery and open the covers on the bottom of the computer. Under one of those you should see a small battery, remove that battery and keep it out for 60 seconds. put everything back in place and restart the computer and the BIOS should reset.

Jake,
Please visit the site www.dell.com, select your country and then go to SUPPORT option. there you will find a toll free number. Call that number and they will guide you in restoring the notebook. Just keep your 7 character tag number handy. You can find it at the back of your notebook.

This is an automated Latitude D410 XP restore disk. The Latitude D410 drivers are supplied in a special windows friendly format. This means that your Dell Latitude D410 XP Laptop will automatically find and install all the drivers for your system, with hardly any user interaction. If you have installed a new windows operating system and half of your Laptop just wont work (with errors like no sound no internet or bad graphics) then this is exactly what this CD has been designed to fix repair. You can also use this CD Disk If you just need to return your software broken Laptop back to the factory setup. There are also a lot of utilities and resources on this cd that you would of found on your Laptop when it was new in its original new condition.

Normally you would need to independently download and install each driver and often enough it will be the wrong one! If you already have other drivers installed it can get very over complicated with device drivers not loading showing errors (like code 10 device cannot start) To make matters worse you end up with allot of older and newer revisions of driver too.

With this driver recovery system all you need to do is wait until the Laptop can not find the device driver it is looking for and put this CD DVD in. Sometimes you may need to select the DVD CD as the location for your driver. That really is all there is to it.

Works every time!
Guaranteed!

THIS CD DOES NOT CONTAIN AN OPERATING SYSTEM!
YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL WINDOWS FIRST OR USE IT IN AN EXISTING INSTALL.

Can't find microphone on dell latitude D410 to skype

Checked on the Latitude D410 and it does not have a internal microphone ... the microphone connector is located on the right side of the laptop near the back ... you will need to purchase a separate mic to get this functionality ... these are fairly cheap to purchase
