I dont really understand the question as when you insert a replacement toner it will inform the printer a new toner has been inserted, however if you are refering to Hardware reseting the page count please find a diagram here http://www.arbikas.com/forum/Attachments/ML1640_reset.pdf

Hi i am using samsung ml1640 printer after refiling it gives toner exausted messafe what i do to solve the problem
When the number of pages reach the limit specified in the chip it starts to give the message that tonor is exhausted no matter if it has tonor in it or refilled. Replace the chip or tonor and it would work fine.

If its the starter cartridge try following: -
Download the firmware from here http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=in&CttFileID=2238869&CDCttType=FM&ModelType=N&ModelName=ML-1640&VPath=FM/200904/20090416100856890/ML-1640_V1.01.00.83.exe
run the software and this will reset the page count to 0. Samsung printers generally do not support a refilled cartridge and thus the red light.But resetting the page count to 0 makes the printer detect the cartridge as an introductory one.

I purchased sumsung ml1640 printer catraige newly fill up after printing not came became a error came toner exhausted. please solution me.
it is very simple but need some electronic soldering knowledge. simply solder a piece of wire as in this picture. your printer never say "toner exhausted"
