When i connect the power of my cnet switch 16port the power led goes off, what does this mean? does the power supply has a problem?

The power supply has the LED driver circuitry built in. I would suggest to measure the voltages without the LEDs connected to the power supply, if the voltages are present without the LEDs connected then you have a defective LEDs strips inside the panel. If the voltage is low or absent, the power supply should be replaced.

I am assuming you are trying to power up an installed motherboard, based on the category selection. You say that you have power connected. That means that you have connected the 20 (24) pin main connector and the 4 or 8 pin CPU power connector to the motherboard. Have you connected the front panels controls to the motherboard header? There are connections for the power switch, power LED, HDD LED, reset switch (optional). They must be connected in order for the motherboard to start. THe HDD and Power LED connections are polarity-based, so if you hook them upo backwards, their respective LED will not light. The HDD LED plug is usually red and white with the red being on the positive (+) terminal. The Power LED plug is usually green and white with the green wire going to the positive terminal. The power switch and reset switch wires can be connected either way as they are not polarized.

Faulty led of the switch generally glows when the hardware latched to it goes faulty such as fans and power supply. please check for LED in any of these. if you won.t find any LED in red in any of these then try to connect your switch through console port of the switch, if the out is coming as garbage value ie it is not asking for username and password the try to power off the switch ( your live services will go down running through that switch, so plan a MW for that) .

The fans and indicators working for a sec would normally mean that your power supply is Ok. This flash of current must trigger a switch in the mobo to start the boot process. This is not happening. The RAM is a principal player here if it does not connect the memory to the processor nothing will happen. Assuming the RAM is correct and has worked faultlessly before, remove and clean the teeth with an eraser. This prob can also be caused by the VGA card not connecting. Usually alarms sound if your mobo speaker is connected but that depends on each mobo. These are basic steps that usually start machines that have been inactive for a time or have recently been exposed to high humidity. There could be other faults...............

Improper ground from control to burner.
Incorrect electrical wiring, check polarity.
Tubing partially clogged between inducer and proving switch.

A sampling of various failure codes on a furnace:

Read one LED flash that stays on continuously to mean your furnace has no signal coming from the thermostat and will not operate. Turn the power off and check the thermostat for improper settings or connections.

Interpret one LED flash that blinks on and off to mean your furnace has locked out because it could not ignite after three tries, and must be reset. Interrupt power to your furnace for 20 seconds or lower the thermostat so your furnace does not try to heat, then reset the thermostat to the previous setting. After one hour of lockout, your furnace will automatically reset itself and try to operate as usual.

Decipher two LED flashes to mean the draft blower is not working, or your furnace has a short in the pressure switch circuit. Turn off the furnace power and repair a short or replace the pressure switch.


Read three LED flashes to mean your furnace has an open pressure switch circuit or it has an induced draft blower operating. Check the pressure switch hose of your furnace for blocks or an improper connection. Also, look for blockages in the flue, and tighten any loose wiring.

Translate four LED flashes to mean your furnace has a primary limit circuit open, possibly from loose wiring or blocked filters. Check and clean filters, tighten wiring and check the flue for blockages.

Interpret five LED flashes to mean your furnace senses a flame without a call for heat. This could be from a gas valve closing slowly or a burner flame lingering.



Read seven LED flashes as a warning of a low flame sense microamp signal. This could happen with a coated flame sensor or a lazy flame from poor gas pressure. Turn off the power and adjust the gas pressure according to the information on the rating plate.



See eight LED flashes as meaning an igniter circuit problem due to a bad igniter or an igniter connected improperly. Replace the bad igniter or check the ground wiring, making necessary corrections.



Decipher nine LED flashes to mean the high-stage pressure switch circuit will not close during a high-stage-induced draft blower operation. Your furnace may have a pinched or blocked pressure switch hose, a blocked flue or loose wiring.

Read continuous flashing on the LED to mean your furnace has a reversed polarity of 115 volts. Turn off the power and correct the wiring polarity after reviewing the wiring diagram.

This type of problem generally occurs when adoptor stops working and battery goes down. Show first of all check your power adoptor, its working or not, to check-out remove battery and use power adoptor then try to boot. If there is power led on means adoptor is ok otherwise try to reconnect and also check whether the power supply is ok for adoptor. For canfirmation use another adoptor.

If above not working then you can try to these steps:
1. Remove Power connection (Adoptor connection to Laptop).
2. Remove battery.
3. Re-Connect power to laptop.
4. Make switch on.
If above does not work then after step 2 try the followings
A. Press and hold power button for abt 20-30 secs. keep holding on and insert Power connection now if power led get on leave the button. After that it should on.

If all above didn't solve your problem, then its time to take tour of service centre.

it could be your power switch, veriy that it isnt the power supply by

1.) un-plug it from the main board
2.) look at the main board connector(one coming of the power supply)
3.) you should see green wire and next to it a black one
4.) using a paper clip bridge the too wires
5.) if it works proceed to net step if not get a new power supply

to check case switch and board switch

1.) plug in power supply to main board
2.) look at the pins where the power button connects to
3.) using a metal object (blade screw driver) bridge the pins

if the board should start up>
then its your power button on the case that is bad, you can try to repair it, chage it or buy a new case,

if it doesnt work.
1.) ensure that jcms(jumper to flash the bios) is set correctly
2.) unjack each drive one at a time to see if any is causing stalling
3.) get a new main board

Its the Mother Board..I had the same problem and had to have a new MB put in
