Power Surge problem

I hope it's still under warranty. Think about getting a replacement, and about next time: Get a surge protection device between the oven and the wall plug! I have suffered from power surges in my house as well, and a surge protector is the only cure.

The control panels on both machines may have fuses that need replacing after surge or a component on the panels have blown due to surge.

If your IG Ignis 105 LA washing machine does not show any lights after a low voltage run and power surge, check the power supply, main control board, and internal fuses for damage. The clicking sound you speak of, is it coming from the door latch/catch area of the cabinet,,

Can you lean down for me, seta wash program and listen very closly and pin point the origin of the clicking sound,,

It will either be near the door handle on the door, or behind the control panel ok,

There is a good chance that this radio got a power surge which may have been caused by the power going out and then when it comes back on, there is a surge. In some cases, a "brown out" does more damage than a surge.

For example, if a telephone pole fell over and the power lines were arcing in your neighborhood, your lights may flicker for several minutes. This can damage many electronic items in your home.

If this clock has a battery backup, try removing the battery and replace it.

If there is no response, you may want to take it to an independent electronics repair person and have him check the power circuit.

Chances are that the circuit board behind the ac power cord will be damaged.

Unplug the notebook, take out the battery.

Hold down the power button for 10 seconds

Now replug in your notebook

If it powers on, then the unit suffered a minor surge and you should from this point use a surge protector from now on.

If it does not power on, then the unit suffered a severe power surge and now the motherboard is blown and needs replacing or buy a new notebook.

Sounds like you should get estimates and turn in on homeowners insurance. Power surges are very destructive and you have lost the control board at least and maybe some switches. Eric

First thing to check is mains filter. have replaced lots on this model!! This is located where the cable comes into the machine.Usually obvious visually if burnt.

If your machine has suffered a power surge it is likely to have affect the main board or ROM chip (On the mainboard) with symptoms explained. The ROM will make a pattern of beeps but if its continual it will probably be the main board. It will be more than likely not worth repair if out of warranty if it is the main board.

If you have had a lightning storm or power surge it may have fried the electronics panel. That is what happened to mine. Once it is fixed you should put a surge suppressor on it that is rated for major appliances.
