Sounds like your phone has a short. If you see the message "line in use" call your number, is it busy, now unplug your phone and call your number again, is it ringing? Indicates a short, possibly in your equipment. As for message " no line" is the electric connected to the phone and did you check for dial tone in tat particular jack with a known, working phone first...just to make sure there's dt @ the jack. Good Luck :)
If you have another phone connect it to the wall outlet to see if you get a dial tone. This will indicate if your base unit is faulty. Check the power adapter to the base unit, make sure it is getting mains power. If the base unit has dual phone lines and if line 1 is only connected and the line 2 has beed selected then you cannot get a dial tone. In the chase press the line 1 to get a dial tone. If your base unit has only one line then check the phone line at the wall socket make sure it is plugged in tight, also check the the connection at the base unit. If this does not work then ring the phone company and get the to test your phone line, you may have a faulty line to your home.
Turn off your phone and then remove the battery. Press the power on button of your phone without the battery, just hold it for a few seconds. This will drain static electricity on your phone. After that, place the battery back and then power on your phone. See if it works.
The ringing you hear when you dial your phone number is not actually your phone ringing but a machine at the phone company designed to give you something to listen to while they connect your call. I would say that your phone number is working, just not at your house. You need to call repair to trace your phone line and get it connected properly. Good luck
First I'll assume that you have wireless broadband internet access. In which case the interruption is caused by your cordless phone. Cordless phones are usually 2.4 Ghz now and so are routers. Operating on the same frequency causes interference between them. Get a phone that is not 2.4 Ghz.
If you have dial-up internet access, then this is most likely caused by your dial-up connection being interrupted. Any time someone tries to call you this will happen unless you call your phone company and they can help you take the proper steps to make sure that this doesn't happen (usually that means they'll tell you how to disable call waiting).
