    Leroyal,

you've broken my heart. Now since you're telling me to dump this fax, can you do me a huge favor?

Please recommend to me a reasonably (not of them seem to be completely) reliable plain paper laser fax that I can buy as a replacement.

    Thanks

    Carlos

My Panasonic KX-FL511 High Speed laser fax and copier worked perfectly for a year and has now died. It still sends faxes OK, but no longer receives or copies.

I have restacked the paper, cleaned the roller and all of that but to no avail. It has been recommended that I dump it!

If you agree with this, then fine. But please then tell me what a reasonable replacement machine of similar specs would be.
    Thanks
    Carlos

Have you recently bought paper for it... read your manual closely to see if it lists a maximum thickness of paper.

    Sorry Carlos,

Since fax machines are being killed by the Multifunction Products (MFP), if you only need a fax, Panasonic is usually the most reliable. I've been servicing them for 30 years, and can only recommend Panafax.

HP would be a second choice, only because you can order parts from their website.

    Best of luck.

I get plain paper or double when I received fax from my uf5300 laser fax.it print one page from 5 pages that sent and I got empty pages and double somtimes

Paper feed rollers and sheet feed pad dirty. Feed roller on top pad should be just below. Clean with alcohol. Papers have clay in them. Recycled is worst. It will glaze the pick up roller and pad.

We have a Brothers Intellifax Machine, Model 2820, the problem is with the paper feed, the roller is not grabing the paper to feed it through the machine when we are receiving fax's. I would like to...

there are several fixes to this problem 1. replace pickup asembly 2. Clean the rubber pickup band are roller with a rubber cleaning compound (not alchohol0 alcohol dries out the rubber.
This is a common problem with printers and faxes, Paper has a tendency to leave a glass glaze on the pickup rollers therefore causing the paper to slip on the rollers are to be misfed thus causing a paper jam

We have a Brother intellifax 4750e. When we send a fax, there is a black streak down the right hand side of the paper. When we receive a fax, the streak is not there. The streak is about 1" wide. ...

Try cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol using a good quality paper towels, I find there is a buildup on the rollers causing streaking on the paper. If that fails the print head must be suspect.

Make sure the rollers that pull the paper through are clean and that the glass is also clean. Clean the rollers with a cloth dampened with alcohol.

Look where you put the paper in. See if you can see inside there and see the roller that turns and picks up the paper. If you can, make a mixture of alcohol and a little dish soap. Damp a rag with it, and reach in there to clean the rollers.  See if the rollers will turn manually, but be careful not to force anything.  Another way to get to the whole roller, would be to start making a print, while watching the rollers.  As soon as the rollers have turned half way, unplug the printer.  Now you can reach the other side and clean that.

There is another way to clean the rollers.  Using the alcohol mix, take a single sheet of paper, and damp one half of it with the solution.  Stick the single sheet in the paper tray, and make a print, but hold on to the paper so that it doesn't feed through the machine.  Do this several times, and the rollers turning against the wet paper should clean them.

Try to print again. It might take a few tries. The rollers have to turn against the paper and dry themselves off again.

If this works, then you need new rollers (cleaning them will only make them work temporarily and the problem will come more frequently until you change them).

Thankyou,
