Where is the HP repair facilities for 9100mx or any other optical drives in USA/California. Mine needs a optical head which a technical support wont be able to repair online. thx

The error message means that the MO disk hasn't come up to speed. Try a different disk.... That's pretty old technology, it may simply be worn out.

If so put it in the optical drive (CD/DVD drive), close the drive.
When asked choose Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation)

Your drive is not spinning up because of ither a read channel calibration error- or a focus servo error- assumimng your using the same media you always have been- and its not REALLY dusty.

Read Cal failure is caused by the controller and the Focus Servo Failure is caused by the optcs module-

repair cost $285 for either.

I don't think the drive can be adjusted or calibrated. It's dependent on the operating system and the drivers it uses.

It could be the drive itself needs to be replaced so that it can read the format you need.

Is there a way you clean the thing?
