Question about Washing Machines

My washing machine does not drain water but is working fine. I do not know if the model has a pump as i do not have the manual & my drainage pipe is high

Yes it has a pump.............
move machine to an outside door and let drain hose lay outside to get rid of some water........
remove back from machine...........the drain hose connects to the pump....
so .follow drain hose back to the pump then ........
see if you can open it up to unblock it.........

SOURCE: Washing machine is not completing it's wash cycle

either you have a blocked hose to the pump or the pump itself is either jammed or the impellor has come off the shaft. either way i think you will need to replace the pump. i presume you managed to get the water out? if so i would say the pump is favourite.

Make sure your pump is getting over 110VAC If the pump is getting power and turning there must be a kink or block in the hose from the washer to the drain.

Hi,

Although a few modern washing machines can operate with the drain pipe at any height, most machines will drain the water as soon as the drain pipe is placed below the machine water level.

The simplest solution for your problem would be to ask somebody with some handy man skills or hire a plumber to add a 2 inch PVC pipe to your drainage pipe which extends to a point behind your washing machine & then points upwards, making sure it is long enough to be at a higher point than your machines fullest water level.
This should be a relatively inexpensive alteration & will ensure that water does not drain unless the machine is on its drain cycle.

Front loading Washing machine Bendix BIW 150 seem to work fine but after main cycle will not enter into rinse or drain modes. If I select them one y one i will rinse but ont drain. I have to undo the valve...

Check filter first , then make sure the blades are turning ok the pump is fine is the outlet at the sink blocked does it pump freely into a bucket yes ...fault at sink ...

F-18 means the pump is blocked. When the machine fails, there may be an "electrical" smell as the motor has laboured. This is normal. Clean on bottom right corner and you should be fine. Drain pipe clogged. Follow insrtuctions that came with machine to drain using the little pipe bottom right. Then unscrew & clean rotor. pull out wahing machine and check drainage pipe at back is not blocked. Unscrew the drainage pipe from the sink waste and clear out. Also enaure pipe is kept high off floor and is not too long. This will help drainage and prevent pump trying to pump waste water upwards. If the pump is too old or worn out then it needs to be replaced. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com

Washer does not drain water

Hello,

The major reason for this to happen is the clogging of the drain pipe of the washing machine. If, even after you clean the drainage hose, the problem persists, there may be other problems.

Next possibility could be that the drainage pump which drives the water out of the drainage hose may be clogged! So, remove the drainage pump and clean it. That should solve the problem. it might also be that the belt of the drainage pump motor may have loosened. If this is the case, you have to simply tighten it.

Difficult if not seen. Most common water on the floor senario is a drain pump leaking:or a perrished pipe from friction.or sometimes, water backs up from the house drainage system due to a restriction.

The pump acts as the drain valve. It sounds like the pump check valve is not working and you will probably have to replace the entire pump. The pump is fairly easy to replace.

Verify that the outlet from the pump goes directly to the drain hose. If so, the only other thing you can do is remove the drain pump and disassemble it to see if something is stuck in there or something. However, this is a more advanced procedure so I would recommend against it. Replace the pump.
