I have a Vizio VF550M problem. I was watching a show and the picture faded to black. The audio was still playing but no picture. I turned the TV off and on again but I still have no picture. It used to flicker a couple of times but now it doesn't. I can see the backlight come on when I power it up. Any ideas what could be causing it? Thanks in advance

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on.  If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.

There is no back light in plasma TV, Base on the description, the Z Sustainer board is bad. Replace the board will fix the problem.

may be a mainboard problem. If you can see the orange light it usualy means that there is power running through the TV... usually inverter boards are a problem when you do not see any backlight at all.

Well It depends on what you mean by fade out, Fades out completely or just darkens enough to be annoying? I just bought this exact tv and mine also fades, I changed the preset picture function to "game" mode and the fading stoped.
