NO.PROBLEM THE EASY WAY TO DOING THIS IS TO FLASH THE BIOS JUST OPEN A NEWER VERSION OF BIOS FROM MANUFACTURER SITE N INSTALL IT VIA WINDOWS.IN THAT WAY UR BIOS WILL BE UPGRADED N THE PASSWORD WILL BE SET TO DEFAULT.IF U R NOT A TECHNICIAN DONT TRY TO OPEN THE LAPTOP.

It could be the backlight itself but they normally will dim or flicker before they die.
Try shining a light at an angle on the display with the computer turned on and look at it from an angle too.
You may be able to see video very faintly; if you do, then it is as described above; a backlight problem, not the LCD display itself.
