What is the security code for 2wire870, wifi - Computers & Internet

I'm not exactly sure whether you are connected to the PC but can't see the internet or whether you are not connected to the PC. So I'll explain the difference and you can decide.

When you attempt to connect a device to a wifi network, the device will do a search for available networks. The networks in range will display, showing their SSDI (name), signal strength, and security status. This is not yet a connection, only a detection. To connect to the network, you need to select the one you wish to join and send a connection request. Unless the wifi network in question is a free hot-spot or is unsecured (neither a good idea to use), then the next thing that will come up is a passcode/security code popup. Here you must enter the passcode/security code that the wifi network is assigned in order to connect. Without it, you will not be able to connect or access the network or internet. There is also the issue of security type. Older routers and devices used a code system called WEP. Newer router use WPA/WPA2 encryption techniques. our device must support the security type the router is using or you will not be able to connect.

Open your wifi on the phone and press and hold the wifi network that you want to connect to then click (modify) re-enter the security code for the wifi network again and then connect. If that does not work then the wifi signal is weak and you'll need to get closer to your router.

Another thing is to choose United States for your Wifi Region in the wifi advanced settings menu.
-- uncheck (avoid poor connections)
-- check scanning always available
-- Wifi Region Code (select United States)

you must have a wifi driver check it device manager goto start --> my computer -->right click then properties goto hardware tab check for your wifi driver is installed... find the yellow question mark... then try to install it...some wifi have a security you need to know the security code... ex. wep.. etc,.

if you are trying to connect to a certain wifi specially if it is secured where in it is asking for a security code you need to ask the owner of the wifi network for you to log on to that network..hope it helpsv :D

do you have wifi? If you don't have wifi it wont connect. Plus if you do have wifi you prob. put a sec code in to block outsiders. so you need that same code to access your wifi

there some Wifi NETWORK that are security enabled while there are some that are free to air so if you actually want to connect wth your wifi you need the security code of the Secured Network;
and as for the NETWORK that is free to Air follow the Instructions Below..(also applies to Secured Network but with the Insertion of Code when you get to where it prompts you to insert your network code)

there you find the list of available network within your location.

If your WIFI network has the security feature turned on you have to input that security code in order to access your network. That code was set by whomever set up the network. If you use the netbook on a network such as Mcdonalds their network is open to the public and does not need a code. Find out what your network code is or reset your router and put a new code in that you will remember.

I assume you are connecting thru wireless or wifi. If its asking for the security code then you have to know the security password for the SSID on that wifi router. Many Wifi routers have security passwords before you can access the internet. If you are connecting to your wireless router then just disbale the security password but will be disadvantageous because other people can connect to your router. Just ask the person for the password who initially setup your wireless router.

ha ha.. a tricky question! the only option is to get a wire connection to that router, get the security key, and go online!!

We need to first determine what type of WiFi device you have in your home because each has a little different method of creating security. It would be best to create a security code for your WiFi connection that way only the people you give the code to can have access. Keep in mind there are different types of security codes to deal with. The more basic types of security may be easier to decode by a "hacker" but allow the least amount of work by your own computer. Whereas, the more complex security means much more privacy for you but a little more work for your laptop.
There's also the suggestion of making your WiFi "name" something clever and non-guessable, connect your MacBook to it, save it as a preferred network and then disable the "radio" on your wireless router. this will allow your WiFi network to continue working, but it is not constantly broadcasting your network name to your neighbors. They will now need the actual NAME of your network PLUS the security code you've enabled.
Many remote support technology companies, including me, are able to use your Internet connection to connect to your computer and then secure and configure your WiFi device for you if you're not comfortable doing the things I've outlined.
