Laptop keyboard replacement procedures are all similar,
Search on the internet for how to replace ne552 keyboard (or similar). You my find quite a number of nearly relevant instructional videos and step-by-step instructions, referring to slightly different models..Look at a few and see how similar they are, pick one and follow it eg Replace Keyboard Gateway Laptop or Replace Keyboard on Gateway Laptop NE56R
What you really need is the maintenance & service manual, but there doesn't seem to be one. You might try contacting Gateway support and asking.
Keyboards for your model are readily available, on ebay or from commercial parts suppliers, even Gateway
You didn't mention what make and model you have - but this seems to be a graphics card issue. Many (HP laptops a few years ago in particular) developed "Cold" solder joints on the motherboard at the graphics card. When the computer heats up, the connection is lost, when it cools back down, the connection resumes. Usually requires a professional repair - either by attempting to "reflow" the solder, or replacing the motherboard in its entirety. Might be more cost effective to consider replacing the computer.
if the recovery option wont work it is better for you to use the recovery disk that comes with the machine so that you can go back to it original state
Yes the keyboard is likely the issue. As silly as it sounds I would recommend strongly pressing all the keys on your keyboard repeatedly. Perhaps a few have become stuck. Otherwise contact your manufacturer or local technician. -Ravi Shanghavi
Your keyboard has a "Numeric Pad" on/off button, in order to compress a full-sized keyboard (with its separate numeric-pad, on the right) into the smaller size of the laptop keyboard.
Press that on/off button, to resume "normal" operation of those keyboard characters that are "multi-labelled".
try reseating the battery but before your return the battery after romving it Press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then return the batt and try turning system on if it boots that will be good but if not try reseating the Hard Drive from the system then try booting again ^_^
Possibly the fan is not spinning in your computer, but if the above still does not let the system boot into windows and nothing is on the screen and u hear high pitched noise most probably the Processor on your system is toast only thing that can cause a no post with a high pitched sound is your processor
You might check and clean the keyboard connection to the motherboard. However, usually this indicates keyboard failure. It's most likely that you're have to replace the keyboard.
