Scanner Directions We bought a LaserJet 3380 All-In-One two years ago but did not receive directions on how to use the scanner. Is there somewhere I can get directions?

If you are getting scanner error it is time to clean the scanner assembly.To do so you are going to need proffesion help beacause the scanner can be damaged easy .This error is verry common for the HP all in one printers.If you need any futher help pls replay. Vote if that was helpfull.

Sounds like the scanner has died. Sometimes restarting can help out. If you can print try printing out the configuration page and let us know what the error codes are.

I SUGGEST DELEATING SCANNER FROM YOUR SYSTEM AND RELOADING THE SCANNER DRIVER FROM THE INSTALL DISC THAT CAME WITH YOUR SCANNER

Honestly it is cheaper to buy a new machine. This is a very common problem withthat model. If you are technically inclined you could try removing the top glass, (not easy) and cleaning all the mirrors as well as the scanner. Many times if the scanner cant find home (because the optics are dirty) it will give you a scanner error message. Also HP has had many issues with this model and the scanner, so you may want to try calling them and see if they will repair it under warranty.

It needs a scanner assy.

If you are a MAC user You need to use the cd that came with the printer for mac and then it will work, otherwise it will only print, and the scanner won't work.
