Most likely the LCD inverter has gone bad. This is the part that provides power to the back-light of the display. In order to replace it, you'll have to get the part number of the LCD. Be aware, they used different LCD in the same size display. It will require removing the bezel and removing the screws that hold the LCD in place so you can get to the back to read the part number of the LCD. The inverter shouldn't cost that much, but if you have a shop do the repair, you're looking at $125-$175. good luck.
