Definitely overheating, and I would say especially if its a gaming laptop of the video chip, try taking a vacuum cleaner (pipe type) to the vents as they have probably built up a lot of dust and fluff over the years, if that does not sort it out, I would take it to a repairer, its a simple job of cleaning the insides, but taking a laptop to bits is thwart with danger as there are thin ribbon cables and connectors that break easily when you are trying to separate some of the click in parts, without experience.
