the problem is in the scanner, open it up and see if you can find any smudges, and clean any obstruction, any ink, liquid eraser residuals, can cause this part to appear as lines on your copied faxed image.
dont concentrate on the printer this is a scanner problem
Dear sir; Try to pullout the drum unit, see have anything block the scan path( such as paper chip) or check the heat roller is there have torn paper wind up.
Does it also leave the line when you make a copy? Lift the lid and make a copy cover up. If it is there on the copy then most likely your scanner needs to be cleaned. If it isnt there when you copy, let me know we will go from there.
That is the cleaning assembly in the drum cartridge.Either something slipped into the cartridge or the blade tucked. Sounds more like something is in the cartridge blocking the drum from both cleaning and charging/
