How do i turn on my wireless for my toshiba satelite u400 i cant figure it out

Hi tracie23368... There's a wireless toggle on the front to control to rurn on the onboard Atheros 802.11b/g WLAN module. All you should have to do is push that toggle in the front of your machine to the right or to the left and hold for a few seconds which will turn on the Atheros wireless card in your laptop. Then it should hook to your wireless router. Note...If you have the security set on the wireless, it will have to be also set in the laptop to be able to hook to your router Please take time to rate me thumbs up

There is a small switch close to the amber light.It is a manual disconnect for the wireless. Make sure it's on.
Amber is normal for this indicator.

Or does the trouble shooter give instructions to turn it on ?

get out your users manual and check for a setting, if no answer there, consider the button itself has a problem and consult with a Toshiba representative at customer service...

Your Toshiba Satellite Pro might be using a specified IP address. Try to set it to obtain an IP automatically. Depending on the Windows OS, whether it is XP, Vista or Windows 7, go to your Control Panel then Network connections or Network Sharing Center and double click on the Local Area Network connection (if your are using wired) or Wireless Connection. Look for the TCP/IP protocol and make sure it is enabled as "Obtain IP address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS addresses automatically". Then click OK to save settings.

Is more than likely the wireless LAN card has gone faulty.
If the laptop is no longer under warranty, you will probably find its cheaper to plug in a USB Wireless Dongle.
Not ideal I know but it would be cheaper - and quicker.

ok go toshiba.com and look for the driver and load it in your system and that should fix your plbm
