Is the red light suppose to stay on when you turn off the tv with the remote?

Yes it is supposed to stay on. This is the standby light. The television still draws power as do many electronic devices when not turned on and when in standby. If you do not want the red light to stay on you will have to unplug the television.

Yes,the tv red standby light suppose to be on,when the tv it is turn off.If the tv standby light is off,check ur power out sourced,see if the power outlet have power.Yes,than ur tv power supply board it is dead,that the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.

My samsung LED TV turns on sometines and other times the red light stays on and won't respond to remote control
leave the tv disconnected for a while because if you keep messing with it like my kids did and it will cause the bulb inside to burn out and will not even be worth fixing

I cannot turn TV off from remote. It makes the picture go out but red light is still on. Have to unplug the TV to turn it all the way off.
red light stays on because tv is in standby mode when switched off by the remote, should be an on/off switch on the tv body somewhere

I can't get my directv Remote to work my sanyo tv must use tv remte now to turn on tv and addjust volume
try these steps.
1. turn on device 2. press setup (underneath on/off) till red light stays on the take finger off the button 3. press and quickly release device button (tv,vcr,etc.) the red indicator blinds off once 4. press the on/off button (up to 300 times) until the device is to be controlled turns off the red light blinks off with each button press 5. press and release enter to install code.

if your tv is not working the remote dont have your tv model stored, you need to find a compatible remote.

* Manual turn on TV DEVICE.
* Press CODE on remoter until red light stay on, press "TV" on remoter,
then the red light will flash to keep searching for properly code until
TV DEVICE turn off (=right code found ), immediately press ENT on remoter. done!
