I tried to install office 2007 on windows 2000 professional with service pack 4. Following error was prompted. "THE SPECIFIED PROGRAM REQUIRES A NEWER VERSION OF WINDOW"

The message is clear: Microsoft Office 2007 cannot refuses to install on Windows 2000 Pro. You need a newer version of Windows (Windows XP or newer) to have MS Office 2007 work properly.
Alternatively you can install Office 97 on Windows 2000 Pro.

How can I get a single product of microsoft office Word 2000, if so how.

Hi,

To install product Help in one of the Office programs, follow these steps:
  1. Quit all Office programs. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  3. For Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98:

    1. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click to select Microsoft Office 2000 product, where Office 2000 product is the name of the specific Office product being used.
    2. If you are using a standalone version of one of the Office programs, click to select the appropriate product in the list.
    3. Click Add/Remove.
    For Microsoft Windows 2000:

    1. Click the Change or Remove Programs button in the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, and then click to select Microsoft Office 2000 product, where Office 2000 product is the name of the specific Office product being used.
    2. If you are using a standalone version of one of the Office programs, click to select the appropriate product in the list.
    3. Click Change/Remove.
  4. In the Setup dialog box, click Add or Remove Features.
  5. In the Microsoft Office 2000: Update Features dialog box, click the plus sign (+) to expand the features list next to the program that requires product Help. If the sign is already a minus sign (-) the features list is already expanded.
  6. Click the symbol next to Help, and then click Run from My Computer in the list that appears. Click Update Now.
Please post your feedback as well.

Office 2007: Windows Installer searches for Office 2000

It looks like a problem with file associations. The computer maintains a list of file extensions and the programs that will open files with such extensions.

Please go to the link below for details on changing file associations:

Office depot ativa keyboard and windows 2000

If your keyboard is the most basic as you state then surely Windows 2000 should have the drivers for this keyboard in it's Windows Cab files. If however there is a problem with the keyboard it best to go to Device Manager and see what Win 2000 is complaining about. It may also be that you have used a PS2 keyboard before -this will bring about that Win2000 will be looking for the old Keyboard and ignore the USB one. In device manager klick on keyboards-in the dropdown right click on your keyboard-click uninstall.Let windows then uninstall the keyboard and restart with your USB board connected.Windows should pick it up and install.Regards

HOW TO INSTALL OFFICE 2007 ON WINDOWS 2000

Your solution makes no sense.
XP and 2000 are practically the same. The only reason Office 2007 doesn't work on XP is because someone at Microsoft has thought
"If we place some code in Office 2007 to prevent it running in Windows 2000, maybe people will buy XP or Vista to use it. Then we can make more money!"
That is the same with every Microsoft program that works on XP but not 2000.
It is a marketing ploy.
Someone help us find a way to get past this dirty profiteering trick.
