Are you connect to pc or laptop? if to pc, you can try remove floppy drive ext casing and plug with ide cable  to motherboard and plug to power also. If not, you need to find converter for that. it is to difficult to find this converter as long today many people already dont use it. What ever, you can find it through online.

Is it possible to record digital 8 material from my Sony DCR-TRV 145E on my Toshiba DVR 20KB? Thank you in anticipation

Well, yes, at the basic standard of the output on Composite connector leads (3 line, ID on plugs: Yellow for video, white for Left channel of audio and red for right) but the digital signal has been converted to analogue, sent over this cable and converted backto digital in the recorder.
Some quality loss but very slight.
Even less loss if you use separate 'S' (or Y/C) connector cable for video signal only and another twin cable again for audio.
Thats still a D-A-D conversion process.
If a DV connector is on your camera and recorder you'll unconverted video & audio over one cable which will be really crisp.
If the connectors are there a recorder will accept signal from anything.

Have just been given the Toshiba Hard Drive PX1396U-3T01, number 2978109s. No install instructions, or paperwork. He is now overseas. How do I install the HD, or get a driver?

Your Toshiba PX1396U-3T01 external HDD is USB-attached, so you'll need to acquire a
standard USB cable to accomplish the physical layer attachment. USB cables do not have
the same connector at each end - the system (computer) end has a USB "A" connector (flat-shaped), and the device end (HDD) has a USB "B" connector (square-ish shaped).

There is no software (driver) needed for this external HDD - support for USB-attached external
drives (either HDD or flash drives) is built into WinXP, WinVista and Win7.

IF your version of MSwindows doesn't want to recognize the Toshiba when you plug it in, try
START > Run > then type in "diskmgmt.msc"

then select the command "Rescan disks."

If you're running Mac OS or Linux, repost including your OS (operating system) info.

I can really just ask a question? I want to know if I can add any form of 4-pin firewire connector to my hp pavillion dm4-1160us Entertainment Notebook. It doesn't look like I have an input or any...

You could try buying a USB to firewire converter cable, which would allow you to connect a Firewire device to one of your USB ports.

Search USB Firewire cable on the Internet. eBay probably have a bunch of them offered for sale.

I want to convert to usb drive a model pa2669u fdd . are there any converting cables for this? thanks joe shimchick

Thats looks like a proprietary connector, you will not find a cable that will convert that fdd to USB, sorry :|
Anyway I doubt the cable would be much cheaper than a new USB external FDD.
USB FDD on EBAY $10

Dell Inspiron 2200 to Phillips 47 " TV

check this out http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/762913.html *A VGA connector and cable are used to carry analog video signals plus display and graphics data. The VGA is a 15-pin connector commonly found on laptops and other devices. With this port you need a PC-to-TV Convertor to connect laptop to TV. You simply plug the VGA cable from the source into the convertor, and use an S-Video or RCA cable out to the TV. The converter is USB powered, so there’s no external power adapter to carry around, making this laptop to TV connection entirely portable. you will need a seperate audio cable unless you are going to use your laptop's speakers

ILink cable and laptop

I would have to consult your manuals.

I think that you are saying you want to connect USB. Nearly all computer ports are the SAME. [USB A]. Devices, on the other hand have maybe 6 connections. A very popular one is like a mini-usb. Look in the manual for what it says it is, take the camcorder with you when you exchange the cable.
