Question about Numark Industries Numark X6 Two Channel Professional Digital 10" Mixer

1 Answer

I just bought a new set of KRK Rokit RP5G2's and hooked them up to my Numark x6 with 1/4" Balanced cables. One speaker for left output and one speaker for right. My source was the headphone jack of a macbook pro to the left deck RCA input. Everything will work fine sometimes but then once in a while the right channel cuts out. It is not the speaker because I switched the cables and that speaker works fine on the left output. At the moment I have resorted to using both speakers on the left output (one thru the left 1/4" and one thru the left RCA). What's going on here? Why does the right channel work sometimes and not other times?

KRK Rokit monitor has no sound from bottom speaker (the larger speaker for lows and mids) the unit powers up fine and i get sound through the tweeter.

What you are describing is a total component failure of something in the crossover board. You cannot really check a crossover without an oscilloscope and a frequency generator. In a lot of cheap speaker systems, there is no crossover board attached to the woofer. In your case it appears that a low pass filter is present on the woofer. http://circuitdiagram.net/loudspeaker-system-crossover-network.html

Hi my names jason and i have a crackling problem with one of my krk rokit 5 g2 played a few tune's and the one speaker won't stop poping please could you help me with this i don't...

Try swapping the monitors inputs. if the other speaker starts popping on the same output it'll show that the mixer may have a problem. otherwise return for repair.below is a link to the manual. check out the troubleshooting section pg 13

Hooking up the speaker to an amp, using the rca line out of the amp i have no volume control from the amp knobs, can i hook the speakers up to the amp from the speaker out ?

You should NOT under any circumstances connect an audio input lead to a speaker output jack!
The RCA jacks you are trying to take output from ore "pre fader" which would be solid "line level" and not controlled by volume controls. Tap off the INPUT to the amp... you should be using balanced lines for the interconnects. RCA jacks are unbalanced lines. You can drive several inputs from a line level output of a mixer for example using a splitter cable.

Just bought a ProFX8 mixer to connect to my Bose L1 PA system, but as soon as I connect the outputs to the Bose inputs and raise the master fader there is a "ground hum" even without anything...

Make sure you are using BALANCED audio interconnect cables AND that the speakers and the mixer are powered from the SAME receptacle... Yes, this means running extension cords. It is a ground loop problem. You should be using XLR or TRS cables BALANCED cables from the mixer to the basss unit of the L1 system. The bass unit and the mixer MUST be powered from the same receptacle to avoid ground loops and hum.

Yes how to set up to an amp

There are two balanced outputs from the mixer as well as two RCA outputs (right & left). The simplest connection would be to run RCA cables from the RCA mixer output to the auxiliary input on an amp.

If you want to use the balanced outputs from the mixer, you will need adapters (or cables with correct plugs) to go from balanced conectors to RCA or 1/4 " inputs on the amp.

More info, let me know.

How to connect mixer to a crown power base 2 amp and speakers

just use the main left and right outputs of the behringer to run xlr (3 prong balanced) to 1/4 inch (looks like a big headphone plug) cables into the inputs of the crown amp. the mixer has the xlr outputs and the amp has 1/4 inch inputrs, sop the cables will have to reflect that on both ends. run the outputs of the amp (rca outputs, i believe, you may have to get a rca plug to 1/4 inch jack adapter, and then use a 1/4 inch speaker cable) to the inputs of the speakers, again, the amp has rca outputs and the speakers will likely have 1/4 inputs, so you will have to address that wil an adapter. have each speaker in its own channel.

Im trying to hook up two sets of passive speaker, one pair is connected to a QSC amp and the other pair is connected to a Kenwood amp. Is this possible without using another mixer like a mackie 1402.

you should be fine, you can get splitters, little adapters to split the input cables into 2, so that you can use one ouytput to run 2 channels. just hook up the output cables to the output on the numark, and use the splitter adapter to split the sound between the 2 amps.

I have a KRK Rokit Powered 5 studio monitor and the fuse blew out, so i replace the fuse with the spare they provide and ''bam'' blows again as soon as i turn on the monitor. i have had these for about 4...

Look for a failure in the power supply section. You will need electronic experience or someone who has that.

If the fuse is glass and blows silvery inside thia means a direct short inside. SUSPECT the input rectifier or filter capacitor(s).

Do testing with a 100 watt light bulb in series with the hot side of the power cord to avoid blowing fuses.
