We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio used 2 months ago from Lowes . It was running like a dream for about 6 weeks, and then we got the LD error. This would occur about halfway through a wash, interrupting the cleaning cycle. If we pressed the cancel button it would begin a draining program that could go anywhere from 5-60 min. It went from 1 in 5 loads to every load.
After searching online I found instructions on how to "teardown" the appliance. I unfastened the water, popped the lid, removed the outer ring, unscrewed the center bolt, removed the basin, unscrewed the drain catch, drained the water, checked the drain pump and the drain hose. There is no clog preventing water from draining, and the drain pump seems to be just fine. Put it all back together, ran a load and 30 min in got the LD error again.
I ran the diagnostic test, and Tests 0-9 run without a hitch, though it does post F83 and F32 each time I enter diagnostic mode. There is a little (1 inch or less) water in the secondary basin (not the clothes tub, but the big plastic basin surrounding it), but I would think that would be expected. My guess is either the motor is running down, or else there is a problem with the water level sensor. Please help.We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio used 2 months ago from Lowes . Most possibly be Error code 56,
Is common in 11 series machines & early series 12. Is your machine beeping & showing a weird pattern of lights on the wash cycle, It is displaying an error code, To read this error code you start at the red spin light & work to the left only add up the lights that are on. Red spin light = 1 2nd rinse light =2 1st rinse light =4 last wash light=8 4th wash light=16 3rd wash light=32 2nd wash light=64 1st wash light=128
An LD code n a Kenmore machine means Long Drain. Check the water inlet hoses for kinks or clogs. check the filter for coins or other junks. Make sure the drain hose isn't blocked, restricted or kinked.
Hi, Problems with a washing machine not spinning or not draining are often inter related.. If you are having a problem with your top load washer then check out this tip...
I'm guessing ld stands for lid. A lost of washers have no problem washing with the lid open but refuse to spin. You need to make sure the lid is engaging the lid switch properly, whether the switch is visible around the lid or attached to one of the hinges. If you can't find the switch outside the machine you may need to pop the control panel. If there are no screws or plastic around or on back of it a common way to gain access is to stick a putty knife in the seam carefully to release the clips holding the assemblies together.
The "LD" code or "long drain" has to do with the amount of time it took to drain the water. It's not only IF the water drained, but HOW QUICKLY it drained. The things to check are the drain line. Make sure it is not kinked or obstructed in any way. The next check would be the pump. Remove the hoses and use a flashlight to look into the suction port and make sure that nothing is clogging the pump (like the occasional stray sock, etc) and check the pump impeller. Make sure there are no broken or missing blades and that the impeller will spin freely. If there are any damaged/missing blades or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, then the pump is defective. Hopefully it's just a clogged drain line, pump, or jammed impeller. Run a hot wash cycle with a 1/2 cup of vinegar also. This will help clean out any sludge buildup in the drain line. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.
ld sure sounds like lid switch problems. Suprised to see this so soon, but I did see one come apart on a fairly new Whirlpool. Luckily, it should be easy to check. Unplug the machine first.
LD code means your pump is cloged with lint or small piece of clothing such as a sock. I had the same code on my washer and sure enough i found my pump cloged with lint from a blanket my wife washed. hope this helps. sorry I cant help on the other code.
