Try holding the 'tone control' and 'info' buttons and press power. This will unlock it if it is protect mode. If it turns back off right away, then you most likely have a problem in the amp circuit which needs to be repaired.

ok, this may be a silly question but when you turn it on and it starts flashing red, have you tried pressing the stand-by button on the remote. if a tv has been put on stand-by by the remote, and is then switched off by the set, when the set is turned back on it is still in stand-by mode and you need to press the stand-by button on the remote. other than that I don't know.
The red "stand by" light shows power is getting to the TV. If it is off, you may have no house power being connected. If you can get the red light to come on but your TV still does not turn on the power supply may have failed
This plush, shiny red Elmo is standing with his arms up above his
head. One foot is lifted slightly off the floor and the other is on the
floor. On that foot, there is a swivel allowing Elmo to turn, the
battery door and the on/off switch. Turn Elmo on and stand him upright
then squeeze his left hand to begin his song.
Elmo really moves
his right arm and leg in time with the song, and also turns in a circle.
When the song is done Elmo says, "Whew.. that was fun! Elmo's pooped!"
The alternative mode is Elmo trying to keep up as the music keeps
getting faster. If Elmo falls over he will say, "Woops!" and then he
will thank you when you set him back upright.
I had the same problem. To fix it I removed all of the new batteries except for the left leg. Turn buzz to Try Me Mode on his back. put the batteries back in. After the batteries are in stand him up and switch him to off for 5 seconds. Then switch him to play mode and he should come to life.
