Compressor is running but fan is not moving at all. Freezer thawed and frige is not cool. Fan was replaced one time already. fan was making almost a vibrating type of noise before it stopped. Where can we buy this fan and how do we replace it? Fan that was replaced is only about 4 years old.

If the compressor isn't running, the refrigerator or freezer won't cool - period. Hopefully, by now, you've had a repair technician come and troubleshoot the problem.

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like your refrigerator could have floating restriction in the line or something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a professional can repair. This can include the compressor not working, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines at incorrect levels to properly cool. It is typically normal to hear the compressor running, humming, or even to be a little warm. However, if you do not hear the compressor at all, I suggest cleaning your refrigerator out including the coils you can reach (typically located in the bottom behind the toe grille) and make sure no food items are blocking any vents in your appliance. Also try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing. Check to see if the fan mount bent somehow. The fan blade just might be jammed. If not see if the fan is getting power. The unit will not cool properly if the compressor and condenser are not being cooled down by that fan.

may need to have your frige recharged or neeed a new fan. does the fan sqeal when it turns? if so the bearings are going out. if it doesnt and your frige isnt staying cool then the fan motor may need to b replaced or the frige might need recharging. if it runs just fine and no noise i wouldnt worry about it

while i do not reccomend doing this since more energy is used in running the components to make is cool (compressor,compressor fan & freezer fan) all 3 must run to keep it cool while the defrost comes on for 25 minutes about once every 4 days as compered to the cooling components running a average of 24 hrs during the same time span as compared to 25 minutes is to disconnect teh wires from the defrost heater behind the freezer back wall

Condenser fan near the compressor- Check to see if your have voltage at the fan. If you do the fan need replacing. There should be voltage any time the compressor is running.

Pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel . Is the compressor running ? Is it hot ? Is the fan cooling the compressor , running ? If the compressor is not running , the piece on the side , with 2 or 3 wires going to it , is bad . If the fan is not running , replace the fan motor . The part number for the compressor piece ( overload/relay kit ) is 12002784 . It is easily replaceable . If the compressor is running , check the square black coil box ( condensor coil ) , to make sure it is clean . Is clean , check the fan in the freezer , to make sure it is working .

By motor, I assume you are referring to the compressor underneath the refrigerator. Close by the compressor toward the rear of the refrigerator, there should be a compressor fan. This should be turning. If it's not, the refrigerant coils will not be cooled adequately. This results in inadequate cooling inside the unit. Check also to make sure the coils are not covered with dirt and grime. If they are, clean them.

If the compressor fan is not turning, you will need to replace the fan motor.

hi thanks for the question you say the fridge is still running is the fan in the freezer running at the back is the compressor running if the compressor is not running and is very hot it could be a bad compressor is there a fan down by the compressor if there is a fan by the compressor is it going if not replace the fanthanks the appliance doc

check for frost in freezer section. If frosted up your air flow is being blocked. Must thaw and determine why it is not defrosting
