Hello paladin41
It is recommended to install first the software ( use the cdrom and follow instructions ) BEFORE connecting the device to the pc . If you don't have the cdrom , you can get the software/driver , free of charge , from here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1141647&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
attention : select the correct OS before downloading .
Best regards ,

Installation of hp colour laserjet cp4525 issue via usb

Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer's USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.

Setting up a Shared Network Printer

Any printer that is connected to a computer and is connected on a LAN can be configured so all other computers on the same network can print to this printer. This means the computer with the printer attached to it MUST be booted up at all times when other computers want to access the printer.
You need to install the printer driver on the computer and configure it as a Shared printer.
The other computers on the network need to add this printer to their computer.
Follow these steps to set-up a shared network printer :-
1. Connect the printer to the computer and install the printer driver.
2. Open Printers and Faxes - right click on this printer and click Sharing - click Sharing tab and click Share this printer, then if you wish you can change the Share name, then click OK
3. Right click on the printer – click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation.
Follow these steps to configure the computers on your network :-
1. Open Printers and Faxes – click Add a printer – Next – select A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer - Next.
2. Select Browser for a printer – Next
3. Click on and expand the Microsoft Windows Network down to the computer with the printer – Next
4. Select Yes for - Use this printer as the default printer – Next – Finish
5. Right click on the printer – click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation.

I just moved apartments, reset up my printer/computer, now computer is not acknowledging the printer. When I try to print it will say "connecting, 78% completed) and then nothing actually comes out.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PRINTER SET ON DEFAULT AND THAT IT IS INSTALLED PROPERLY! OR YOU CAN ALSO TRY...UNHOOKING YOUR PRINTER, SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER AND HOOK YOUR PRINTER BACK UP BEFORE RESTARTING TO LET YOUR COMPUTER INSTALL YOUR PRINTER.

IF YOUR COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGINIZE NEW HARDWARE, SUCH AS YOUR PRINTER, THAN IT IS NOT SET AS YOUR DEFAULT PRINTER!

YOUR SOFTWARE MAY NEED TO BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED, MAKE SURE YOUR PRINTER IS NOT HOOKED UP WHEN INSTALLING SOFTWARE.

SOFTWARE HAS BE INSTALLED FIRST, AND RECOGNIZED...THEN RESTART COMPUTER WITH PRINTER (HARDWARE) HOOKED UP!

I cant print wireless on my hp Laserjet 1015 Printer. I have it like a Directed connected shared printer to my PC. By the way, the operative system of my pc in which i have it connected is XP, and it does...

Hi,

With that, you need to install the printer into your windows 7 computer and windows vista computer.
Even though the printer is installed into your windows xp computer wirelessly and set up as shared printer, you still need to install it on to your other computer because you need to install the driver and other printer's software to maximize the features.

Since the printer is already connected, you just need to run the appropriate installation package, the one that's compatible with your Operating System, and install it via Wireless or via Network. For the correct installation package. You can download it from the hp website and check the Support and Driver's section.

Cheers!

Installing my printer

You need to install the printer driver in your computer. You can use the installation cd that came with your printer. The software will also show you how to setup the printer itself. If you don't have the installation cd, there are drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/bLIMIo . Choose the operating system of your computer by clicking on the Microsoft, Macintosh, or Linux/Unix dropdowns found at the bottom of the page. Download the correct driver compatible with your computer's operating system. Install the software. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, place a comment so I can get back to it. Thanks.

Can't install my lexmarkx4270 to computer

Kindly click here and enter the model number. You can download the driver for the printer.

Remember that unplug the printer and that start the installation of the printer. You need to plug in the printer to the computer when prompted to do the same during the installation.

I am sure that this will help.
