Alesis DM6 electronic drum kit module sound problems: The mix in, display and sensors are working on the module but no drum sound is produced through the monitor or through headphones (but an ipod can be played through the module). Sound was working previously with no problems, I have had the kit about 2 weeks. Have tried restoring factory settings and the firmware update but no luck. Help!

It appears that you have to select a "Kit" of drums when using the external triggers. It appears that the volume level for the kit and that for each voice MAY all have to be set, especially after new firmware download. Read manual about KIT volume level and selecting voice and volume level for those. Manual is NOT very clear about these things and you have to try them as this is where the probllem is.

How fix the firmware problems with alesis dm6?

Have you updated the firmware recently? If not, do so.
If you are having volume issues, you can adjust them with the following:
Adjusting the volume of individual pads:
-Press Voice.
-Then press Volume.
-Strike the pad you would like to adjust.
-Then use the + and - buttons to adjust the volume of the individual pad.
-To adjust another pad, strike that pad, and repeat step 4 above.

Can I use a 12V adapter to power the 9V output for my Alesis DM6?

No, it will work for some time, but will eventually overheat and cause damage. Spend the $10-20 and have piece of mind.

My bass drum stopped working. The module wont pick up any signal and ive tried everything short of replacing it. Not sure if its the wiring the module or the drum sensor itself.. Everything else works just...

Verify the module by connecting a different pad to the bass drum and see if you can trigger the bass drum sound. This would test the module. Now connect the bass to a different input and see if it will trigger that input. SOME of the triggers have a very small potentiometer in them. I have seen vibration break this pot loose rendering the unit inoperative. Also some people have pushed a screwdriver into the pot too hard and broken it off. Once you know it is the bass trigger, open the unit and look for damage. The sensor is usually a piezo disk. These can break away from their attachment. Reattach with contact cement after cleaning the residue.

Have the alesis dm6 there is no out put sound. monitor appears to be working. hooked to small amp or headphones. just fuzz. please help. little guys christmas present!!!

Two things:

Check that cables are seated, especially the one at the main module.

Second, look for a setting for "Local Control" in your user's manual; That setting should be "On" to accept the triggers from the pads.
