My dvd player is not responding to my remote RMT-D187A the dvd player is fine and will play dvd's but the it's not responding to the remote-I've changed the batteries....there is no way to get inside the remote- it appears the eye is not lighting or working....any fix ideas? The player is not that old and remote has worked fine up to this point

To make sure the remote works or not. See if it blinks if you shoot the pointy end to a mobile phone in camera mode. If it's working fine there, some other issue. At least you know if it's a battery thing.

1= change the batteries by new ones 2= clean the contacts cleaners with contacts cleaner 3= resolder the wires contacts batteries 4= retight the spring contacts batteries with pliers for better contacts 5= open the r.control clean the kepayds switch for dirty, oxide, and test for open, bad contacts. 6= try agan, if doesnot work go to the repair shop TV for fix it.
For Sony universal remote controls, try codes 068, 069, 078, 096, 100, 164, 168, 229, 026. Alternatively, you may use your universal remote control's scan or learning feature to find a working code.
The Sony RMT-D187A cannot be programmed for a Dynex television. The brands supported according to Sony are: GoldStar, Hitachi, LG Mitsubushi / MGA, NEC, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, RCA, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, and Toshiba. Sorry, but it wont work on your TV.

I have this remote for my dvd player as well. The manual for my player is at this site http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DVP-NS710H®ion_id=1. However it does not give a code for my tv. I've tried a bunch of codes and none of them work. I've tried codes for other remotes that seem to be all the same for my tv and they don't work. But if you go to the site above and click on "Operating Instructions" the manual will pop up. Go to page 15 and the codes and instructions are there.
