Hi there, hopefully a nice easy fix, have you checked the fuse in the plug?
hope this helps
Where is the fuse in the plug? I have the back off and checked the three fuses on the circuit boards that I could find and they all check ok.
Hi,
Yes the fuse in your mains plug has almost certainly popped you may need to flip up a small cover on the plug to remove the fuse, a small screwdriver should do this fine. Make sure you replace it with one of the same value. If you have no spares, you should be able to borrow one from something else. Not sure of the value you will need but I am sure you have several things with plugs on.
Hi there, the fuse that I am reffering to would be in the plug at the non tv end of the power cable, where it plugs into the electricity outlet in the wall. Follow the cable from the back of the tv until you can go no further. Look at the underside of the plug, there should be a fuse under a small flap.
Sorry I wasn't clearer before
Thank you so much for your many and prompt replies. Still confused. The power cable into the tv has three prong female plug and the other end that goes into the wall is a standard US three prong 120V male outlet plug with no fuse? I know that I am getting power into the plug at the back of the TV (tested the leads into the TV). I have connectivity at the bypass power switch on the back of the TV (test the red and blick wires in both one and off positions). No green light indicating power to the main circuit board and test (with meter) all three pop out fuses to confirm no shorts or breaks in the (meter tested).
Thanks for any thing further.
Ahh I see, sorry for the confusion, I am a uk resident and we have fuses lol. I am sorry but I was hoping for a nice easy fix for you (you wouldn't believe how many people dont think of the fuse over here.) It certainly sounds as though something more terminal has blown and unfortunately its beyond the scope of my knowledge to be able to help you in this matter. I would start by looking around the power board though, maybe you have damaged a transistor, I believe I did this to my best pc psu not so long ago but as I haven't the testing knowledge or equipment I have binned it. Not quite such an easy fix as I thought. Sorry for wasting your time.
No worries and not wasting my time. I appreciate your time.
One more questions. the main power cords (blue and red) within the unit from the main power input to the the main power circuit board have a heavy black box (1 inch cube) that the wires go through and clamp closed losely around the wires. Do you know what this is? Is it just metal to keep the wires from touching something else or could it in any way be a fuse???

I am not certain what "mains plug" is. The primiry on off switch in the back of unit does unscrew, but does not appear to have a fuse connected to it uless it is inside the small plasticc casing. I don't know how to get it appart. I have already tested that switch in both the on and off positions with my volt meter and it appears to be working. I saw a post on another site that referenced circuits that pop up when blown, could that be the issue. I can't find any other removable pop out fuses other than the three that I have all tested as working.
Any additional input is appreciated.
