Reset the password to default on an edimax ek16ro

You need to download the manual for this Middle East version of the access point/ wireless extender. Page 4 covers resetting the router so a new password can be put in.

If you press and hold the reset button for more than 4 seconds, the Access Point will reset to the factory defaults (Warning: Your settings will be deleted and replaced with the factory default settings).

It will have to be reset to factory defaults, and then re-configured

Press the RESET button and hold it for 20 seconds to reset the access point to factory default settings. The default IP address, admin user name and password are written on the back of the router.

Generally all routers have a little button on the back of them where the ethernet ports are that you have to push with a pen for 5seconds that will reset your router to it's factory default settings, this includes any user names and passwords used for an internet connection or any wireless security settings

this will also reset the username and password for logging into the router

push reset button at least 10 seconds

Try this link its your router's manual from its manufacturer's site. Drop down page then click manual it will download your manual. Then read from resetting the router and default user and password.

Be aware that by doing the reset the router will be back from default settings.

The default settings for your router are : 192.168.2.1 User name :admin and the Password is : 1234

• Note: If you are not familiar with the operation of OSD menu, please don’t change the password – i.e. keep default eight zero (00000000) value.
• Otherwise, if you have set the password and unfortunately forget the password, you need send it back to your distributor for resetting the password.

Warning the following instructions are likely to RESET THE ENTIRE CONFIGURATION OF THE ROUTER and you will need to reenter it completely.
