Strange phosphorous effect

Always keep electronics turned off when cleaning and read owners manual for proper cleaning. lightly damp and very soft(silky is what i use) microfiber towel is as abrasive as an lcd display should ever see.

Off/On The Power switch sudden 4 Straight lines appear on the screen ! what is that & why ?

OPC_ Optical Picture Control
Automatically adjust the brightness of the screen.
You can change the settings in the menu option.
It's in Menu, then picture, then OPC.

OFF- The brightness is fixed at the value set in "Backlight"

ON- Automatically adjusts

ON: DISPLAY- Displays the OPC effect on the screen while adjusting the brightness of the screen.

If you don't want the silly display from popping up all the time, go into to menu and change the setting to ON; instead of ON: DISPLAY

The best thing to do would be to call 1-800-be sharp. Tell them your problems and the age, and they will most likely set up a serviceman to check the set free of charge. From there it really depends on who you get on the phone. They may supply parts, ( Which they ussually do ) or they may supply parts and labor. Sounds like a panel issue to me. Give them a call.

Sorry, you have a defective LCD panel. If your TV is still under warranty, contact Sharp to get the TV exchanged. Otherwise, LCD panels cost more than the TV is worth.

LCD LAG COMPENSATION CIRCUIT? never heard of that, dosent mean it dosent exist, you may have a LCD driver board issue, never seen the trails thing on Aquos, have had to update the software on many of these critters though.
