Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

Xerox 3030 (engineering printer)

NVN Fault (call for assistance) is showing on screen.
We had a lightning storm yesterday.
I don't want to pay 300 bucks for a service call for something
we've called about before and seemingly took 2 mins. to fix.
Is this way over my head? Or a quick fix?
Thanks

If you open the front door of the DC1250 and pull out the conveyor unit, you will see the heater unit on your right hand side. We need you to remove the heater cover (fastened by two screws). Once the heater cover is opened, you will see a black long strip on your left hand side whereby you will notice oil on it. Next you remove the fuser web (on the right hand underside of the heater unit) whereby it will reveal the Upper heater roller and Lower pressure roller. Please check if you see any oil stains on the Upper fuser roller. If there is, it means the oil pump, oil pipe etc are working well (i.e oil is supplied to the Upper roller).

Next we need you to check if there are any scratch marks on the Upper Heater Roller. We need you to recall if you have had encounter or incidences of paper jam at the heater unit whereby you pulled out the paper to clear the jam. We are concerned that the upper roller may be scratched. From the print out results, there is a fusing problem with the copier, which could be a result of the fuser nip clutch and also the upper fuser roller.

SOURCE: Xerox 2424 Print head not parked

A copule of things cause that.
Here are the main 2.
On the left frams looking from the front, with the covers off, there is a 1 inch square stainless steel print head block that is located about 2/3s of the way back , near the bottom of the frame. Look at that and see if there is ink built up in that block , also under and around the block. If so remove the spring holder thats over the block and take channel lock pliers and remove that block. It may be very stiff. To clean soak it in hot water to soften the ink and clean that block, the shaft and all the remaining ink under the block you can remove. Once you return the machine to working order, take a level and out in on the glass. Make sure it is LEVEL front to back and side to side.
Number 2 is the print heasd wiper is stuck to the print head. That requires removing the scanner/document feed assembly, the side covers, the upper rear cover and the ink loader assembly,( where you put the ink sticks). Once you remove that you have access to the print hear drum area. If needed carefully pry the wiper from the print head and return to service. That blade will stick if the machine is not properly shut down.
I strongly suspect the machine is not level and when you ran the cleaning mode, it sucks all the ink out of the print head. Most likley while that ink was dropping into the tray, it ran out the back of the tray.

That is a software processing error.
Do you have it set up as a printer? If so, try removing the print cable and power it on that way.
If that doesn't work, you need to have the firmware reloaded. That can only be done from a laptop with Xerox software on it.

Xerox 3030 (engineering copier)-- "Toner Fault. Call for assistance" is on the little display screen. Can I easily fix this myself?

I expect you've probably got this fixed by now? In my experience people who own these machines want them working all the time. This error code problem can be over concentrated or under concentrated developer. Possibly needs developer changing, or the DEV sensor could be U/S. Good luck.

Xerox 3050 fuser replacement

Assuming you are talking about the Xerox 3030/3050 wide format printer, you don't replace the fuser, only the individual components eg. fuser roll

Have a Xerox 4118P WorkCentre that I just received yesterday. Copies were perfect yesterday, today they are blank. Very low copy volumn thus far. What could cause it to suddenly print blanks?

Pick up the phone and call the company that sent you that printer and have them send you another printer or someone who can fix the printer.

That's what you warranty is for.

Better still, return the defective printer to Xerox and then purchase a Lexmark printer. :)

My scanner stopped working yesterday. Tried everything and no luck. Its an MP830 and the printer works fine.

Did you have a storm or lightning? Try unplugging the power cable from the left rear of the machine (not the wall). I have had to do this on several occassions after storms. Good Luck!
