HP Photosmart Plus printer is now displaying "printer cartridge error". THe ink cartridges are new and we just replaced them again with NEW cartridges. We have removed the cartidges, turned off the printer, unplugged the printer, plugged back in, turned back on and put back in the cartridges and still are getting the same error. Hepl!!

That is the problem, I suggest you return it and something they will replace it for free. Make sure you get the correct toner part number is this cartridge is not compatible with your printer. Regards

Printer flashes error "replace color cartridge"

Hello,

Try unplugging the machine and removing all the ink cartridges.
Now plug the power back in. Wait a minute or two and then reinsert the ink cartridges.

If you get the same message, the machine's ink sensors are probably finished.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

C4780 printer cartridge problem cannot fix problem is this same as ink cartridge problem what do i do tried cleaning ink cartridges but still says samething on display it happend in middle of printing...

Ok. As per your statement , the power cable is working properly. So , the problem is with your printer only. If you are using the original cartridges and still having the priblem , it is only the defualt printer. If you are having the extended warnty for (3) years , you are adviced to contact ' HP Authorised Service Partner'. they will replace your old printer with new one. Generally the HP company is giving 1 OR 2 years warranty for replacement.If have paid extra amount for extended warranty , your printer may have warranty up to (3) years. So, within the period of (3), the HP Authorised Service Center will replace your printer. They will give reciept for your old printer, and replace your prionter within a (15) days to (25) days with new one. If the printer is not having warranty or extended warranty , the printer is assumed to be as damaged. So, you have to purchage the new one. Be, cuacious the HP printers are not repairable. Please don't try to approach the local repairer.They will eat your money and also don't try to purchase very very very costly HP in cartridges. I think your problem may be solved.

Switch off the printer and switch on again,Unclip the cartridges one by one and clip back in again this sometimes cleans out the connector pins.This has happened to me.

The ink cartridges included in the box are used to set up the printer. This type of ink cartridge is called a “host” cartridge. Once the printer has completed device initialization, they are marked as regular “trade” cartridges. This error only occurs if the printer has finished the device initialization process and one or more of the ink supplies inserted into the printer are a “host” supply.

Solution: The indicated ink cartridge(s) cannot be used after the device has undergone first-time setup. Once the product displays the message ' The following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced ', the designated host cartridge(s) (indicated by the color icon(s) on the display) that were rejected should be discarded or recycled and never used again. Replace the ink cartridge(s) with the appropriate “trade” ink cartridges for the HP All-in-One.

Ink System Failure HP C5180

IssueAn 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution
Press the On button to turn the printer off. 
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove all the ink cartridges.
Wait two minutes.
Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on. 
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.
If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer.

Incompatible Ink Cartridge notice with proper HP ink

These types of severe cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem", etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #74 / 75 (or 74XL/75XL) cartridge(s) are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on most models which use HP 74/75 cartridges. Ink cartridge?

Remove the color cartridge and power on the printer again, if that clears the error, replace it with a new one. Do the same with the black cartridge.
