It's pretty universal for them to have a way to associate the mouse and keyboard with the receiver in a way that switches the channel or code it uses.  You can use that to get working, but obviously the keyboards' RF is esentially insecure.  Therefore, one of or both of you get to pick some more secure wireless stuff at the shop for the more permanent ability to get along.  If you're in a particular kind of business, you might need to look more carefully than in another.

I have a Labtec multi media keyboard & mouse, MN Y-RAC66 & one MN Y-RB6.Neither have the "transmitter". Part no longer available from Labtec.

Most of these are brand specific. If the unit is bluetooth (I don't think this is the case) , you can buy a dongle, no problem. If not, you can try to find a used on for sale. You can buy a basic wireless keyboard and mouse new for under $30.

Does the labtec wireless mouse turn itself off when not in use

Hi,
You should always safely shut down and turn off your computer before plugging or unplugging the mouse from the PS/2 mouse port. If you do not safely turn off your computer, you may damage the mouse port, the mouse, or both.

Your Labtec mouse should detect and function by simply connecting it to the computer´s PS/2 mouse port or USB port. If you have 3 Button Labtec Mouse (M/N: M-CAC64), your mouse will work in the PS/2 and serial port with the supplied adaptor. If you are using the 3 Button Labtec mouse, we recommend using the PS/2 port. To determine the model number of your device, turn it upside down and look at the label. Model numbers are indicated by "M/N:". This will help you determine what system ports your Labtec mouse can be connected to.

Thank you

Connection

There is usually a "Connect" button on the devices (Mouse & Keyboard) and on the receiver the unit connected to the computer. Hit the "Connect" button on the receiver then the ones on the Mouse and Keyboard.

Hopefully that works...

If not comment back.

Labtec wireless desktop.

Could be radio interference from somewhere. I tracked my similar mouse problem down to emissions from the ethernet adapter that connects over the house mains wiring. Try the using the mouse close to the receiver, if it works ok interference is likely.
