Check the site for whatever brand it is. there should be a downloads page and check to see if your specific headset requires a driver. thats often the case. if not send me some info on it and ill check it out for ya through some resources

You need to set the mic you wish to use with the webcam as the 'Default' mic
XP Plug in your webcam or headset or mic you wish to use with your webcam Control Panel (Classic View) Open 'Sounds and Audio Devices' folder and click on the Audio tab - make your preferred mic the default device in the 'Sound recording window' Open 'Volume' below the window to ensure the mic is not muted Click 'Apply' and 'OK' Restart your computer Configure the webcam / mic to your chat program
VISTA Plug in your webcam or headset or mic you wish to use with your webcam TEST SPEAKERS Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard
SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC Click "Recording" tab. Right click on the volume graph and select 'Show disabled devices' and 'Show disconnected devices' To set your preferred mic as default - click the mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK' Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays
you haven't mentioned it that i can see but when you have the green plug into the green can you hear sound ?... if so look for the speaker icon on the lower right of your screen. open that to volume control.... look at the mic setting... is the mute box marked ? if so uncheck it and try the mic again
Hi there, Just a couple of questions that might help you solve your problem.. - Have you already installed the sound driver of your motherboard/sound card? - Have you properly inserted the right color/jack of your headset to the computer? - Have you check the volume control of the headset whether it is in mute or full volume?
If you have tried the above questions then you might have a defective headset.
To test if it is working, try playing some music & the sound recorder for you mic.
