Hi my Electrolux EWF1074 isn't working. The timer is counting down but there is no water in the machine. I tried resetting it but it didn't work. Could someone please help me. Regards Matt.

Rapid reading of alarms:

Press the START/PAUSE button and the nearest option button (4) simultaneously for at least 2 seconds: the LEDs initially switch off, and then display the flashing sequence indicating the last alarm.

ewf1074-2rgnvy5j4oifscmshudmmeh4-3-0.jpg After reading error code (look display) will be a lot clearer in which phase of the washing cycle has occurred or is happening malfunction.

New washing machine (electronic) compared to the old models (electromechanical) consume much less water, so it looks that your washing machine is working properly, otherwise it would be stopped. This will be confirmed if the display show E00 which means there is no any malfunction. Any other error code, for exp. E10,E20,E30, E40, E50...... means some malfunction.

I need a service manual not a user manual for washing machine Electrolux EWS1277FDW

I suggest you first to check if there is any errors memorised in your washing machine, then we will know what is, a malfunction or improper use of the machine.
So, how to make a rapid reading of alarm codes, see below:

First, appliance must be in normal operating mode (e.g. during the execution of the washing programme, I suggest reading the alarm exactly when the washing machine working).

Press START/PAUSE and nearest option button simultaneously for at least 2 seconds:
The LCD display shows the last alarm.
The alarm continues to be displayed until a button is pressed.

Let me know exactly error code (Could be: first digit always "E", than following two numbers) if you read the alarm on display.

Try turning the machine on while holding down "0" and "8". when it displays test mode, enter 690 and then press start. press enter on the screen and wait for the display to read "reboot the machine". This is a low level format of the hard drive. if this does not work, the hard drive will have to be replaced.

How can I get a meter reading for an e-studio 160 copier?

In order to get a meter count, turn the machine completely off (including main power,) and press and hold "0" and "8" simultaneously, then power on the machine. After about 5-8 seconds of holding these keys, the machine will boot into test/service mode, and at that point you want to type "257" and "start," then the meter count will be displayed.

I feel you are experiencing a clutch malfunction. If you call in a service repair company the cost will be in the $300 + range. Do the work yourself and if just clutch maintenance is required you’re looking at $10 - $15 for a can of WD-40 and some bearing grease. Worse case if you have to replace the clutch $55 range this worked fine in my series 16 your machine yours is a series 14 (1st two digits of your serial number). Here are the steps to remove the clutch and inspect. It is a tight work area but by tilting the washer back and blocking it up for a better reach angle you can drop the clutch out for maintenance. If the clutch roller bearings are rusted up or the clutch spring is broken you will have to replace the clutch.

Read thru the step by step below, review what other forum members had to say about the process and if you feel you can accomplish give it a try. There is a quick test to rule out an issue with the Tub Displacement Sensor but I feel the issue is a clutch malfunction.

Take a look at this post to see what the clutch looks like.

Post back for any questions or help. Rich

Access and remove the Clutch for maintenance
Disconnect 120VAC power cord.
The Service Manual and Sears Parts Direct for reference.
Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. See page 33 of the SM for putty knife insertion point.
Remove the front panel see page 41.
Tools required;
3/8 inch socket and socket wrench to remove clutch pulley bolt. Page 47 of the SM
1/2 inch socket or wrench to loosen Drive Motor tension bolt.
5/16 nut driver or 5/16 ¼ socket on an extension to remove front panel see page 41 of the SM.
1. Lean the washer back and blocked in that position for a better reach angle. Rotate 3/8” clutch Pulley Bolt CW to remove clutch bolt.
2. Follow SM page 46 & 47 to remove clutch pulley.
3. Remove 4 screws holding plastic cover on clutch, inspect clutch spring to make sure it is not broken. Inspect roller bearings clean up with WD-40 and re-lube with bearing grease.
4. Replace white bearing plate into clutch pulley hub, insure key slot slips into clutch Spring pin in clutch hub.
5. Replace Clutch plastic cover with 4 screws.
6. Reseat clutch on spinner shaft and rock back and forth while lifting clutch with upward pressure to reseat clutch. When seated properly you will feel a 1/16-1/8" gap between the Pulley face and shaft end as mentioned and shown on page 47 of the SM. On reinstallation, tighten Clutch Pulley bolt CCW to 96” pounds 8’ foot pounds (Snug no torque wrench required).
7. Do a quick wash and make sure clutch runs true with no wobble or clicking sound. If the clutch has not been seated properly it will spin off. If this happens go to page 16 of the SM Board Output Test and turn on Drain Pump in Service Mode to pump out excess water.
8. Repeat steps 6&7 if the clutch has excessive noise or spins off.
