The Batteries in these units like all rechargeable batteries only have a certain number of times they can be charged and discharged before begining to fail. Your only option is to replace the battery with a new one. They are cheap to purchase off eBay and YouTube has Videos detailing how to change them.

put it on a charger overnite, or for at least 4 hours. if u can help it, DO NOT use ur cp as a charger. After u do this it should go to "do not disconnect" the next time you plug it in to your computer.

I have a ipod 30gb the sound is not good and i

You may need to apply the 5Rs. See here.
Try another cable if you can, to check the charge. Or try charging it with an ac adapter charger, if the computer isn't working well.
In fact, try plugging it into the back usb port of a desktop instead of the front, unless you're using a laptop. Some usb connections are powered off the motherboard, and don't have as good a power source as others.
See also here and here.
Make sure you sync all the songs to your computer first, so you don't lose them....

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Unlock my Apple iPod 30GB

From Apple:

----------------------------
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize.----------------------------
