I can't find any details or even a picture of the rear panel but if it has a digital input attach the source of that HBO movie (cable/sat box) digitally to the Durabrand just as you would any other digital source.

Hbo go sound is not working with the firestick. the sound is a loud fast ticking. I've uninstalled the app and it still doesn't work.

If you're not getting sound in HBO GO, try the following:

  • Make sure your speakers are connected to your Dolby Digital Plus receiver.
  • Make sure your HDMI/Optical connectors are plugged in.
  • Reverse the ends of the cable or trying using another cable.
If you're still not getting sound, try turning off Dolby Digital Plus:

On your Amazon Fire TV or Amazon Fire TV Stick, go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Dolby Digital Output > and then turn Dolby Digital plusOFF.

In order to get Dolby Digital Plus audio, you need to have a receiver that supports Dolby Digital Plus. Dolby Digital Plus is an audio technology based on Dolby Digital 5.1, the established standard for home theater surround sound.

No audio playing blu ray movie. previews on same disk play audio. using digital audio coaxial cable

I'm guessing there's an unnamed BluRay player in here somewhere. IT has audio settings and each movie might also have setups for the Main Feature. Previews and menus are always in the lowest common audio denominator.

This unit can only accept Doby-Digital or PCM digital audio. DTS, for example, is not supported.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/RCA-RT2580-Receivers-manual/id/23292ag604/t/2/

As it says on page 4, "Read instructions carefully when connecting components to the receiver."

Read the Blu-Ray manual.

My magnavox suround system works great when I view movies on discs, but I can't get it to work when watching HBO movies or concerts. What am I doing wrong?

That would depend on how your cable box audio is routed to the MRD.

I can't find a clear readout on its audio INPUT capabilities. If it does have a digital audio input you could probably run the cable box's digital audio output to it and you'll have surround. If it doesn't have a digital audio input you're limited to stereo audio from external sources. Then I would ask, what were they thinking when the didn't spec a digital input on a multichannel system?

No tv audio from home theater speakers.

Make sure the jacks go from the output of the televison or movie player and go to input on theater receiver. Then check to make sure theater receiver is on the input setting/channel

Does not play multichannel audio (5.1) input through optical digital audio

Hi try this.

in the dvd player make sure you just leave it default (bitstream) but in the home theater receiver don't select 5.1 b/c that will only give you a virtual 5.1 not a true 5.1. In fact don't select any sound field at all just select dolby digital or dts depending on the source of the movie then you should be ok.

The only other problem i can see is that hdmi sends both the sound and picture to the tv. You will need to see if there's a function on the dvd player to only send the picture via hdmi and the sound via the optical out of the dvd player.

good luck

smeags.

Tv surround

It depends on what you currently have as equipment.

You'll have to have something that outputs in digital audio (coaxial or optical). Either your reciever (Cable/Satellite) or the TV. You'll just hook that up to the Surround Sound unit and then just turn on the Surround System when you want surround sound.

You'll have to connect the TV as you would normally with audio cables sicne you'll want stereo sound on the regualr channels.
