You are probably putting too much current through the hub. 1 USB port is good for 500mA, and since this splits 1 into 4, you're working with 125mA per device if you have 4 things connected. Find a powered hub instead.

HP LaserJet 2430 Printer Will Not Print since USB Power Surge Error

INSUFFICIENT POWER - USB PORT
If you get an error message "Insufficient power to operate USB device" when you plug a USB device into the computer's USB port or the un-powered USB hub that is attached to the computer's USB port, then this device is drawing excessive current that the USB port cannot supply. The maximum output from an USB port is 500mA. In case such as this, you need to purchased a powered USB hub and connect this hub into the computer's USB port and then connect the USB device into this powered USB hub.

I keep getting a connection Error Message. Please Check that USB cable is connected and power switch is turnedl. I just upgraded to a new computer from and older model computer

Make sure you're plugging the USB cable from the machine intoa USB port in the BACK of your computer, not one of the front ports or a porton a USB hub. The cable and machine need more power than most of those portsprovide, a technical detail that Singer doesn't realize. If you're using a laptop, keep trying different USB ports until you find one that works. Good luck!

The hub will not isolate connected devices from your motherboard. However, when you use the hub with its own power supply it will pull less power from the motherboard.

Vivitar Vivicam 6326 USB Port Hub Problem

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My dynex usb hub is not working

You need to unplug the power adapter from the wall, and disconnect the usb cord from the PC/laptop for at least 30 seconds. Then plug everything back in. Apparently this model suffers from static electricity from time to time. I have this hub also and it works every time.
