Question about HP PhotoSmart 7660 InkJet Printer
The power button shows a blinking red light and printer does not respond to anything. I unplugged the power cord and re attatched it and got a blinking green light for a couple of secands and then it goes right back to blinking red. Please help. Thank you Chris
Red Light blinks when the ink cartridge is bad..
to check which one is bad..
take out all cartridges from the printer and clean the copper contact and the inner area of the cartridge slot with a lint-free cloth...
power off the printer and unplug the power cable from the printer..
press & hold the power button on the printer for 60 seconds..
connect the power cable and power on the printer..
insert any ONE cartridge and close the door..
similarly insert other cartridges one by one and close the door and check if the light blinks..
if it blinks ..it means the respective cartridge is bad and replace it..
if u have replaced all the cartridge..it might be possible that the cartridge sensor inside the printer have gone bad..
if this is the case so ..u might service the printer..
but I will suggest to go for a new printer as 7660 is quite an lod printer which hp launched in 2004 or 2005..
even if u have juz bought it ..it will be refurbished one..
