I just got mine and had the same problem. After messing with it for I bit I got it to work. The trick is you must have audio of some kind playing through the jabra when using the volume button. I started some music playing and then tried the button and it worked. But if it is idle you just get the battery status.
1. Put the headset in pairing mode Make sure that the headset is on. Press the answer/end button and press the volume up (+) button at the same time, until a solid blue light comes on. 2. Set your Bluetooth phone to 'discover' the Jabra BT130 Follow your phone's instruction guide. This usually involves going to a 'setup,' 'connect' or 'Bluetooth' menu on your phone and selecting the option to 'discover' or 'add' a Bluetooth device. 3. Your phone will find the Jabra BT130 Your phone then asks if you want to pair with it. Accept by pressing 'Yes' or 'OK' on the phone and confirm with the passkey or PIN3 = 0000 (4 zeros). Your phone will confirm when pairing is complete. In case of unsuccessful pairing, repeat steps 1 to 3.
what i gather from what you have said is that the headset doesn't ring at all. this would indicate to me that the headset is not paired with the base.
normally when pairing devices the base station will look for the device but at the same time you will have to hold the headset power button for at least 5 seconds for that the other device can capture the signal.
i will look into this for you but try this method if applicable but the bluetooth devices do have to be paired in order to work.
For a while I was not able to figure out how to turn the Jabra Halo headset on. What you need to do is unfold the headset and then push the hinged portion into itself, which will lock it in place so that it will no longer hinge for the time being.
I just had the same problem. I have the bt350. The phone would find the headset, but wouldn't pair with the code. I tried numerous things, from reconnecting it to a power source (to make sure I disconnected it gracefully) to checking the visibility, etc. It finally worked perfectly after I turned the phone off. Sometimes, a reboot is all you need. Good luck.
