Please check if the problem is not internet connection issues. You may need to call your internet provider if that is the case.
Or, I would suggest upgrading the version of your Internet Explorer. Yahoo products like Yahoo Messenger rely its stable connection through Internet Explorer of Windows.
It doesn't matter if you are using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Just upgrade the version of Internet Explorer and that will fix it.
As most of Web developer looking to test their site on specific Internet Explorer (IE) version. But Microsoft doesn’t allow installing multiple IE on same machine. I have cool utility called Internet Explorer Collection& IETesterwitch will solve your problem.

If ie icon doesn't that means your internet explorer has been uninstalled. To get it back go to : 1.Start 2.control panel 3.Add and remove program 4.Click/remove component 5.insert bootable CD and install your accessaries including ie.
Go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8 select your operating system and download IE 8 to your desktop.
You should be able to go to the control panel and select add/remove programs or programs and settings. Scroll down the list until you find internet explorer 9. Select it and press remove. This should remove 9 and restore 8. If it doesn't restore 8, use the previously downloaded installer for internet explorer 8 to get you back in action.

This happens when IE is corrupted. Since IE is part of Windows the only way to fix it is to reinstall.
Or you could use another browser instead of IE. I recommend Opera, it's way faster and has a lot more features. http://www.opera.com/
Try Mozilla Firefox and see if the same thing happens. lol.. IE is a white elephant in general. You might need to go to add/remove programs and uninstall IE from the windows components section and reinstall it possibly, personally though I would not re-install IE after removing it though, lol. As urban dictionary defines Internet Explorer - a perfect program for downloading Mozilla Firefox, lol. Good Luck!
1. Right click the wireless icon in your task tray (bottom right of the screen). Select REPAIR from the pop up list. The wizard will run through it and you will hit finish or close at the end. Try Internet Explorer.
If that doesn't work...
2. Open Internet Explorer. From the File menu, Select Tools. Select Internet Options from the bottom of the drop down list. Select the Connections tab across the top. Click the LAN Settings button torwards the bottom. Make sure that "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked and nothing else. Close Internet Explorer, reopen Voila.
Hi Suz du - try this - on your IE - click on tools>internet options>connections. Make sure that there's nothing in the dial-up box. If there is, remove it. Then click on Lan settings snd make sure automatically detect settings is clicked. Then click ok. Close IE and re-open and try it.
If this fixes your problem PLEASE rate as fixed. If not DON'T RATE YET, Just add a comment letting me know what happened and gladly assist you further. Thanks.
I did, no virus. Mozilla Firefox works, but not IE.
I tried to update and also tried to download Ie7,it won't let me do either. I get a message that my system doesn't support any of that.
