The back of the dryer that came with 3 wires, also has a 4th green wire already grounded. However, this 4th, green, wire is not attached to the power cord. With the new 4 wire power cord that I have to change to b/c my new house has that outlet in the wall, there is a green wire that the man at home depot told me i need to ground. but then what do i do with the green wire still attached to the back of the dryer? does that need to be grounded too? and can they touch? or do i just let the other one hang?
It should go something like this ; depending on the brand and age. just remember, white in the middle ; this is the most important thing.
