I believe you want to know if your wireless network is secure. If that is the case you should be able to check that from most computers.
On a windows 7 machine, if you check the lower right hand corner for your wireless icon you should be able to click on it which will bring up a small window showing all wireless networks in your area. To see if your network is secure, find the name of your network, and see if there is a lock next to it. If so your network should be secure.
On a Mac, you should be able to check the same thing by locating the wireless icon on the top right of your screen. Clicking on this once also brings up all local connections. A lock next to the name of your network means that it is secure as well.
Note that this means that there is a passkey to get in, and there are still ways to hack into this.
If the lock is not present, you should be able to secure your network by going through the setup on your router.
Try to connect to it, without entering a password, with a wireless enabled computer. If you can connect, then you are not "locked down". Enable WPA2 encryption and mac address filtering in the router configuration.

If you place your mouse over the signal strength meter on the bottom right hand corner of your screen, it will tell you the name of your network and it will way "encrypted" if its locked and "unsecured" if it is not.
