I've just installed a Miele 5500SCU Dishwasher and the springs that support the door cant be adjusted far enough to take the weight of the door, does anyone have any suggestions?

If the dishwasher is brand new, then there is an issue with the configuration of the springs, i.e not mounted correctly. A factory dishwasher door should not need to be adjusted. However if it is older, it is possible that the springs came off, in which case they can be seen from the underside of the dishwasher and by a panel that unscrews on the bottom of the door. Make sure the springs are there.

I have an Indesit DV62WHUK dishwasher and the last night the door made a banging sound when it was opened and now it won't close and will fall back under it's own weight. I suspect either a spring, spring...

There is a plastic unit behind the door handle which houses a spring under tension. This latches the door closed and makes the electrical connection to allow the machine to work properly. You need to buy a new unit (£15) which is a bit fiddly to reach but easy to fit (2 screws)

How do you repair or replace the door tension spring on a KUDP01FLBT2 built-in Kitchenaid dishwasher? Thanks

Hi,

If your door falls down or is noisy I have put together some instructions here on how to repair. You will need a kit part number 8194001, it is relatively inexpensive, let me know if you have questions.

The door to the dishwasher is very hard to close. The door also falls down to the floor which makes the carriage/basket fall down as well.

sounds like one or both of your door links are broken check your hinges. you should ahave a large spring and a piece of rope that attaches to the door. let me know if this helps you

How do I adjust the door of the dishwasher so that it doesn't fall completely open

There is a T20 screw located above the tub (open door to view) toward the left side. Tighten this screw a turn at a time, testing the apparrent door weight between turns until the door is neutral.

Kitchaide Dishwash Door

There is normally 2 heavy springs & cables that control the "falling" of the door located in the bottom of the machine or it the door itself. Sounds like one (or both) have snapped.
